Staying at Clearwater Lake

Clearwater Lake Campground is located on 32 acre Clearwater Lake in Ocala National Forest. The campground is open year round with 14 day visit limit April 15th to October 15th, and a 6 month limit from October 15th to April 15th.

Making the most of your stay

There is a one mile trail around the lake that lets you enjoy the long leaf pine forest surrounded by the lush wire grass. For the true hikers you will find the Florida National Scenic Trail and for the cyclist you will find the Paisley Woods Bicycle Trail.

While hiking on the scenic trail you may observe wildlife such as black bear, deer, wild turkey and numerous species of birds. While it is only a ten mile hike to Alexander Springs it is not a loop trail so most decide to turn back at some point of their hike.

The bike trail is a 22 mile loop trail to Alexander Springs and back.

Canoe rentals are available on site, but there are no boat ramps available. There is an area provided to walk down small boats with electric motors for the avid angler, though. No gas motors are permitted.
