Bass Fishing

If you are into bass fishing you might not find too many impoundments as good as Logan Martin Lake. Bass fishing here is exceptional year around with the best fishing during the pre-spawn season in February and March, and March absolutely being the best month.

Largemouth and Spotted Bass are very plentiful. Largemouth bass are abundant with a very large population in the 12 to 18 inch range. Spotted bass are just as populated with a very large population in the 14 to 21 inch range. Many of these Spotted Bass are in the 17 to 21 inch range. Believe it or not, you will also find many of these Spotted Bass in the 4 to 6 pound range.

Catching Bass

If you are going to be heading to Logan Martin Lake to try to hook some of these pre-spawners it's recommended that you use jigs, small finesse lures, tube baits or Texas rigged worms for the largemouth. The spotted bass can be caught on a variety of lures, from top water to mid diving lures to lures fished on the bottom.

However, if you can't make the pre-spawn fishing, don't let this stop you from visiting Logan Martin Lake. This is absolutely a great bass lake not matter what time of year you go.

Tournament Fishing

Logan Martin Lake is also very popular among many of the bass tournament series. The Bassmaster Classic has been fished here three times, 1992, 1993 and 1997. The FLW Tour has also held events here as well.
