Self Creek / Jim Wylie Campground is located on the shores of Lake Greeson. Lake Greeson is approximately 12 miles long with 7,260 acres of water surface fishing, skiing, boating and other water sports. However, if you love the outdoors, not just the fun in and around water, this is the place to be.

Fishing

The fishing is fantastic without having to say it. Aside from the three types of bass that are in this lake, largemouth, spotted and white, you also have a number of different types of catfish.

If you travel a little way, just below the dam you will find plenty of rainbow trout.

Hunting

Just to the west of Lake Greeson you have a 35,000 acre public hunting area where you can find plenty of rabbit, squirrels, bobwhite qual, as well as whitetail deer.

Adventuring

Self Creek / Jim Wylie Campground also provides access to 45 miles of walking, cycling and nature trails. The cycling trail is a magnificent 31 mile trail around Lake Greeson where you will travel through a magnificent pine covered forest and over rolling hills.

To top it all off, if you are visiting Self Creek / Jim Wylie Campground over the winter there is an excellent chance you will see some bald eagles as they spend there winters vacationing around this breath taking lake.
